really not flowing a significant volume of air/oil vapor... unless there are major problems. It doesn't take much cross-sectional area to provide relief for a relatively low pressure. I'm sorry, I don't have proof, I just know that we use orifices in hydraulics in our systems that are smaller than these PCV ones and we're flowing hydraulic oil at 2000+ psi, depending on the application - just to smooth out functions. That said, certainly more free-flowing relief is better, as is less oil going back into the intake - then catch cans come into play.
